MINDANAO PEACE POWER DAY 1: 18.MARCH.2009

PBCI joined a solidarity group of peace advocates from 17 countries. We trekked through 500+ kilometers of Central Mindanao roads with a peace convoy of 25 vehicles. We saw more than 100,000 people–children, youth, adults, seniors–shouting for peace under the heat of Mindanao sun (38-40 degrees celcius). Their loudest cries: “Stop the War in Mindanao!” “Respect the MOA-AD!” MOA-AD is the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain.
