DISASTER RESPONSE

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR HAGUPIT RELIEF !

In partnership with PCEC, Mennonite Central Committee and Mennonite Church Canada, we are currently organizing these 2 projects:

:: Relief goods distribution (clothes, cooking supplies)

:: Soup kitchen

We are looking for volunteers, willing to serve with us from 2 weeks to 3 months. You will need to bring your own gear: camera, mobile phone, power bank; but also tent, mat or hammock, malong or sleeping bag.

Qualities:

:: Great interpersonal skills

:: Culturally sensitive

:: Physically healthy

:: Emotionally stable and positive

:: Initiative and a willingness to take command and instructions

The following profiles are needed:

:: Documenter and photographer (please bring your own gear)

:: Team leader, activity coordinator

:: Driver (with Filipino license and rough road experience)

:: Cook (bonus if you can show creativity on a budget)

You will need to provide your own funds. Examples of budget for volunteers:

  • 10 days in the Hagupit field, coming from Davao, with 5 days stay in Tacloban and 5 days in Ormoc

* The team will only need to pay for accommodation in Ormoc, where the central office is. On the field, we will be camping or sleeping in churches. For that reason, budget may vary.
