OBJECTIVES OF THE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TEAM
The support Operations Team make sure that we provide an effective, efficient and excellent work to sustain the Field Operations Team through the different resources of PBCI, namely:
:: Human Resources. We believe that every staff member is important and they deserve an excellent quality of services and we will be of assistance whenever they need us. We work as a team that acknowledges and recognizes the giftedness and capabilities of the individual. A person’s development is important to us
:: Information & Communications Technologies. ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device or application, encompassing radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as video-conferencing and distance learning. ICTs are often spoken of in a particular context, such as ICTs in education, health care, or libraries. At PBCI, ICT is particularly designed to advance Peace and Reconciliation. We are aware that the importance of ICTs lies less in the technology itself than in its ability to create greater access to information and communication in under-served populations. PBCI is conscious for ICT application in our operations because we’re concerned that unless the less technologically advanced areas have a chance to catch up, the increasing technological advances in developed nations will only serve to exacerbate the already-existing economic gap between technological “have” and “have not” areas.
:: Research & Development. Our life and work at PBCI, including R&D, are governed by a set of Ethical Values. We particularly refer to two specific values when we think of R&D:
a. Truth. By God’s grace, we will not lie. As witnesses to the truth we have experienced in Jesus Christ, we will initiate transparent and honest interaction with all the people concerned as we relate with them and as we formulate and implement our policies.
b. Mutual Learning. Because all truth is God’s truth, we will seek to be both learners and teachers when we work with other people. We recognize that modern knowledge can be harmonized with traditional wisdom from many cultures, and that this harmonized learning will enrich our mutual growth and development.
Because of these values, we will seek to verify, validate and document all data and information gathered through our R&D before using them as bases for reports or project proposals. We will seek approval of the people we write about before publishing our statements about them and before using those statements in any of our research reports or project proposals. We will also write and submit completed research reports or project proposals using professionally-accepted formats among NGO, corporate and academic R&D practitioners.
:: Financial Stewardship. We are called to trust God to provide what we believe is our calling — to help in the shalom-transformation of our land. We will diligently discover the people whom God would call to be our cheerful financial partners in this vision. We will submit ongoing reports to all the people concerned—sponsors, clients, volunteers, staff—as we manage the resources entrusted to us.
