Brenda
was the office administrator of the Mennonite Central
Committee in the Philippines for 17 years. Her
presence with us enriches our community with the
experience, skills, network and wisdom of the past
Mennonite teams who were before us.
She's our Administrative Officer.
Asked how she sees her leadership role at Peacebuilders
Community: I am happy to know that I am joining Peacebuilders Community.
I am proud to tell friends and relatives about
our humble contribution to the peace and reconciliation
in Mindanao among Bangsamoros, Lumads and Migrants.

Ibrahim
is committed to help his fellow Bangsamoros as they
struggle for their Right to Self-Determination. He
believes his personal contribution is through the way of
salam—or peace.
He's being trained as a Manager, Coffee for Peace, Inc.
Asked how a Muslim like him would consider working with
a Christian peacebuilding organization: Islam
insists on being in-harmony with all religion. All
of these values
that give life to Peacebuilders Community are also
acceptable to the teachings of Islam.

self-motivation is energized by his love for God and by
his compassion for people, especially for his fellow
Mindanaons.
He's our first Peace and Reconciliation Team Organizer.
Asked how he feels about his assignment as a
peacebuilder in a conflict zone: Someone said,
"Safety is found not in the absence of danger but
in the presence of the Living God."

"Kriz
is an excellent research staff," commends a
professor at the University of the Philippines. "I would definitely hire her
again."
She's our first full-time Research and Development
Specialist.
Asked why she joined a small peacebuilding outfit like
us instead of joining a big international NGO: I
think working with Peacebuilders Community is not just
about employment. It's about learning and growing
up spiritually, mentally, socially, culturally and
emotionally...

For
Joji, sustainable economic development is crucial to our
search for just-peace.
Joji is our full-time Director of Support Operations.
Asked why she left her career in Vancouver, Canada for Mindanao: I can't imagine having a summary of my life
printed on my tombstone as: "Spent her life
managing rich people's money." I want to be
remembered as: "A person who walked with the people
as they find dignity through sustainable economic
development."

Dann's
current passion is to help multiply effective,
cross-cultural peacebuilding leaders in the context of
21st century realities.
Dann serves as our President & Director of Field
Operations.
Asked what fuels his excitement and positive outlook in
life despite the negative stuff happening around him:
It's the positive influence of Jesus—a 1st century Palestinian carpenter who
was executed by the imperial power of his time.
He said: "Whoever tries to keep his life
will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve
it." He defied death—the ultimate negative factor in our cosmos.
